And who else would have a punny stamp set like this? You know who! Kindred Stamps of course! For this month’s release I was asked to work with the soccer themed set, titled “Kick Some Grass.” I had so much fun creating cards with these kickin’ cuties.

For the first card, I used the “Play like a girl” sentiment to lead my design. I knew instantly it had to pink. For the background, I blended Oxide inks in Spun Sugar, the awesome new Kitsch Flamingo and Worn Lipstick. Then I used Kindred’s Swirly Bits stencil with Picked Raspberry Oxide ink on top of the blended pinks. I used Worn Lipstick to stamp the soccer balls on the background strip. Kitsch Flamingo was used for the sentiment. I wanted to pull all these pink tones together and give it a very feminine feel, reminiscent of Breast Cancer Awareness. The soccer player was colored with Copics and the soccer ball was stamped in black ink. For a final touch I pulled the pink sequins and rhinestones out of the Rainbow Sparkletz Shaker Pack sold by Kindred.

Next I decided to make a shaker card in my hometown colors since I had sequins and patterned paper leftover in those colors from a past Special Edition box. For this card, I used the awesome new “Card Builder Basics” die set. This is a set you are definitely going to want to grab. It has so many elements for creating all different types of cards. You will see later on, I also used it for a slimline card. I used the stitched card layer die to cut the bottom blue layer and the stitched square for the top layer. I turned it into a shaker by cutting the large star out of the middle. The ticket die, also from “Card Builder Basics” was perfect at the bottom for my sentiment. For some added bling and to coordinate with my star theme, I used Starry Sky Sparkletz.

For this soccer ball shaped card, I added the “Thanks” word die. These word dies are so awesome. They come with two pieces (word and shadow) which give you so many options for using these. You can see all the different word options here. For this sentiment, I used two different ones from the “Kick Some Grass” set and cut them apart to make it say “You kick grass.”

Lastly, I created this slimline card. I used Catherine Pooler inks in It’s A Boy and Suede Shoes for the sky using Kindred’s Cloud Builder stencil. To make the nets, I inked with a very light grey ink using the Lattice stencil. The circle and star are from the “Card Builder Basics” die set. Like all the others, the players were colored Copics. I used edged scissors for the strip of grass and inked it with “Grass Skirt.” I added some faux stitching and finishing touches with a white pen.
