For friends, family and crafts! Truly. Crafting became crucial the past 7 months, more-so than ever. It was always therapy, but it became necessary. And I felt so blessed to have it as a fallback, mainly because of the community it meant I was a part of.
So today I honor all my amazing people in the crafty community with this adorable turkey from Brutus Monroe. He was so fun to color with Copics and highlight with a white pen. I even added some Glossy Accents to his eyes. The paper and ribbon are from Brutus Monroe also.
Take a look at the window and notice the beautiful colors in this shaker blend from Doodles Paper Playground called “Give Thanks.” They make a perfect backdrop for the turkey. I know most people don’t send Thanksgiving cards, but I can’t think of a better time to let someone know how grateful you are to have them in your life. So take the time to make stuff and be happy.
A few months ago I finally tried my hand at no line coloring. I grabbed my ZIG Clean Color markers and started off with two little caffeine loving cuties from The Greeting Farm. Meet my friends Latte Anya and Cafe Ian. Now, since I am a hoarder of all things crafty and cute, I had this amazing paper from ColorPlay called “The Daily Grind by Becky Fleck.” As soon as I started playing, I quickly had buyer’s remorse. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT MORE!!! Ugh, so cute.
Anyway, when I found out about the blog hop over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers, I knew it was time to give these two a home.
So I grabbed my scissors and begun fussy cutting away. Once Anya & Ian were ready to go, I tore through all my “coffee themed” supplies to figure out what was next. Since I was in the mood to make a shaker, I grabbed “Breakfast at Tiffy’s” Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. The colors worked perfect with what I had going so far. I have a feeling this color palette will show up again in a future design. I chose a sentiment from a retired Stampin’ Up set called Coffee Cafe. This is one of those sets that I tend to use a lot. If you followed along for DPP’s May release Blog Hop, you saw I used it with the new Spill the Bubble Tea Sparkle Blends. All the cardstock and metallic thread are from Stampin’ Up and fine white embossing powder is from Ranger. As you can see, I sometimes get a little obsessed with shimmer and bling. Some may say a little too much. I don’t know who though. What do you think?
