A beautiful process for a beautiful person

It was my mom’s birthday and that means I had to make her a perfect card. I wanted it to be pretty, meaningful and something she would cherish. Since I always picked my mom tiger lilies when I was a kid, I chose a Lily stamp I received when I took a class with Nicole Peterson from Picket Fence Studios. In class, she taught us different ways to use ZIG Real Brush water color markers, so I chose those to work with.

I stamped the image on Strathmore Bristol with black hybrid ink from Picket Fence and then colored and blended with the ZIGs and a water brush. I created the background by dabbing some color around the image and then blending out with the water brush. Once dry, I mixed Tsukineko All-Purpose Ink in Frost White with water and splattered it on with a paint brush.

For the sentiment, I stamped “YOU are simply” in black ink. I die cut “amazing” three times and stacked them. The top layer is covered in glossy accents. I embellished with seam binding ribbon from Polka Dot Orchard and “Broken Glass” Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. The green card stock and white card base are from Stampin’ Up.

My mom adored the card, which made me so happy. I wanted her to love it and feel my love for her. After all, this is one of my main reasons for making cards for people. And they always seem to come out better when I am making it for someone I know appreciates it. Who is your favorite person to make cards for?
